Gillibrand Hall Nursing Care Home
Providing nursing and specialist dementia care
Gillibrand Hall, an elegant grade II listed building built in 1808, is set in five acres of grounds with beautiful panoramic views of the Douglas Valley. It is easily accessible and situated a few minutes from Chorley town centre.
Restored to its original splendour, a sympathetic conversion has transformed the property into a nursing home. It provides a unique blend of first class technical and professional nursing care with a luxurious and elegant, yet homely environment.
Our highly motivated staff are headed by a registered manager, a matron who has many years of experience in caring for the elderly and who provides hands-on supervision to maintain our tradition of excellence. A qualified nurse is on duty 24 hours per day. All staff are CRB checked and undertake NVQ qualifications. Training is sponsored by the company as part of an on-going commitment to retaining high quality staff. In addition the company has its own 10 part training programme, which all staff complete.
As in all our establishments, there is full disabled access, lifts to all floors and specialised equipment is available, e.g. for assisted bathing. Physiotherapy, Chiropody, Dentists and Opticians are all available on request and local clergy of all denominations are encouraged to visit on a regular basis.
Our qualified chefs prepare a wide range of home cooked food using fresh local produce. The choice is based on traditional recipes and daily alternatives are provided at every meal time. Special diets are also catered for.
The home has a recently installed wet room which has assisted showering facilities that promotes independent bathing and the residents have the use of a Jacuzzi. There is also a sensory suite for residents to enjoy an audio, visual, tactile relaxing experience. A full programme of activities is available to our residents, tailored to their needs and abilities. The company also has a mini bus service that is used to take residents on day trips and visits.
Although there is a no smoking policy within the home, special smoking areas are designated for people who wish to smoke.
The home is visited by hairdressers and a range of complimentary therapies can be arranged on request at your own cost. Accommodation is fully inclusive of laundry.
The home welcomes guests funded by Social Services and those who are privately paying clients. We are happy to accommodate both, private or supported clients - everyone receives the same high class service.
This home is inspected and accredited by CSCI, in accordance with statutory government regulation.
All the Century homes are accredited with the Investors In People (IIP) quality mark which shows the level of investment we put into our staff and our homes - all of which means simply that we provide the very best of care for the client.
