Residents, relatives and friends came together at Mary Rose Manor on Saturday 8th August for our much-loved annual Summer BBQ – and what a fantastic day it was!

With the sun shining, our beautifully decorated garden provided the perfect setting for an afternoon of fun, laughter and togetherness. It was wonderful to see so many of our residents enjoying the occasion alongside their loved ones, creating special memories together.

There was plenty to keep everyone entertained throughout the afternoon, with a fantastic selection of games and activities including tombola, Name the Bear, Guess How Many Sweets Are in the Jar and the ever-popular cake stall. Thanks to everyone's generous support, we were delighted to raise an amazing £305 for our residents' fund, which will help us continue to provide enjoyable activities and experiences for our residents.

We were also treated to live entertainment from “Bring Me Sunshine”, who had everyone tapping their toes and enjoying music from around the world. The atmosphere was filled with smiles, music and plenty of sunshine!

Of course, no summer BBQ would be complete without some delicious food. Residents and guests enjoyed hot dogs, burgers and refreshing fruit punch, with something for everyone to enjoy.

The afternoon was a wonderful opportunity for residents, relatives and the Mary Rose Manor team to spend quality time together outside of the usual daily routine. We were delighted to receive lots of positive feedback from relatives, who commented on what a lovely afternoon everyone had enjoyed.

A huge thank you goes to everyone who helped organise the event, donated prizes, supported the games and, most importantly, came along to make the day so special.

At Mary Rose Manor, we believe that creating opportunities for residents to spend meaningful time with their loved ones is an important part of life in our care home. Our annual Summer BBQ was a wonderful example of the community spirit we enjoy at Mary Rose Manor – and we are already looking forward to our next celebration!
