We recently welcomed Mrs Mac’s Sweet Shop into our home for a delightful afternoon filled with nostalgia, laughter, and — of course — plenty of sweets! Known for its delicious traditional confectionery, Mrs Mac’s brought along a wonderful selection of old-fashioned favourites such as pear drops, aniseed balls, and Wigan’s famous Uncle Joe’s Mint Balls.

Our residents enjoyed browsing the colourful pop-up sweet shop and choosing their favourite treats, sparking fond memories of childhood trips to the sweet shop.

To make the day even more special, “Paul the Handyman” — affectionately known as the sweet man himself — kindly treated all residents and staff to a complimentary bag of sweets. His thoughtful gesture added an extra touch of sweetness to an already lovely afternoon.

Everyone had a fantastic time reminiscing, sharing stories, and indulging in their favourite sweets. We’d like to say a big thank you to Mrs Mac’s Sweet Shop for visiting us and to Paul for his generosity. Our residents can’t wait for the next visit!

Thankyou to Paul and Mrs Macs sweet shop, see you again soon.
