At Lytham Court, we love bringing culture, tradition, and community spirit into our home—and this week was no exception as residents and staff came together to celebrate St George’s Day in true English style.
A Traditional English Afternoon Tea
The highlight of the day was a beautifully prepared traditional afternoon tea, giving everyone a taste of classic English favourites. Residents enjoyed a delicious selection of:
Freshly made salmon and cucumber sandwiches
Warm scones served with clotted cream and jam
Mini sherry trifles
A variety of cakes and sweet treats
A selection of teas, alongside refreshing fresh orange juice
The dining room was filled with conversation, laughter, and the comforting nostalgia that comes with such a timeless British tradition.

Live Entertainment with Traditional Morris Dancing
Adding to the celebrations, we were delighted to welcome the Fylde Coast Cloggers, who put on a lively and engaging display of traditional Morris dancing.
Residents thoroughly enjoyed the performance, with many tapping their feet along to the music and reminiscing about past celebrations. The dancers also took time to interact with residents, making the experience even more special and memorable.

Bringing Culture and Community Together
Events like our England cultural day are an important part of life at Lytham Court. They offer residents the chance to celebrate familiar traditions, connect with others, and enjoy meaningful experiences that spark joy and conversation.
We’re proud to create opportunities that celebrate heritage while bringing our community closer together.
Looking Ahead
We look forward to hosting more cultural days throughout the year, each one offering something unique and engaging for our residents.
