At Mary Rose Manor, we believe that life in a care home should be filled with meaningful moments, new experiences, creativity, friendship and plenty of fun.

That’s why our activities programme is designed around more than simply keeping busy.

Our Holistic Experiences programme brings together wellbeing, connection, creativity and community, giving residents plenty of opportunities to enjoy themselves, discover new interests and spend quality time together.

This September and October, we have another fantastic programme of care home activities and events at Mary Rose Manor, with something for everyone to enjoy.

September at Mary Rose Manor

💃 Spanish Dancing & Games with Guests – Thursday 24 September

We’ll be enjoying a taste of Spanish culture with an afternoon of Spanish dancing and games, with guests joining us for this special session.

Taking place from 10am–12pm, it’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy music, movement, laughter and a little bit of cultural exploration.

☕ Coffee, Cake and Kindness – Friday 25 September

What better way to finish September than with coffee, cake and good company?

Our Coffee, Cake and Kindness afternoon at 3pm will bring everyone together for delicious cakes, a cuppa and plenty of conversation. It’s all about enjoying the simple things and spending time together.

October at Mary Rose Manor

October brings a wonderful selection of seasonal activities, creative sessions, music, relaxation and Halloween fun.

🎨 Autumn Creative Session – Thursday 8 October

We’ll be embracing the colours and beauty of autumn with a seasonal crafts and mindful creativity session at 3pm.

Creative activities can be a wonderful way to encourage self-expression, conversation and reminiscence, while creating something residents can be proud of.

🍎 Autumn Café – Friday 9 October

Our Autumn Café will be serving up some seasonal comfort at 3pm, including hot chocolate and pumpkin spice and cinnamon cake.

Residents will also have the opportunity to make a donation to TLC, combining an enjoyable afternoon with supporting a good cause.

🌳 Gratitude Tree Activity – Thursday 15 October

What are you thankful for?

Our Gratitude Tree Activity at 3pm will give residents the opportunity to share the people, memories and moments they are grateful for and decorate our special gratitude tree.

It’s a simple but meaningful activity designed to encourage reflection, positivity and connection.

💆 Relaxation Session with Hand Massages – Friday 16 October

Everyone deserves a little time to relax.

Our Relaxation Session at 3pm will provide residents with the opportunity to slow down and enjoy a calming hand massage while taking some time for themselves.

🎃 Autumn Creative Activity – Thursday 22 October

Autumn continues to inspire our creativity with another seasonal craft session at 3pm.

With pumpkins, autumn colours and seasonal inspiration, residents can get involved, create something special and enjoy some time together.

🎶 Memory Lane Dance and Sing Along – Friday 23 October

Music has a wonderful way of bringing back memories.

Our Memory Lane Dance and Sing Along will feature music and movement from residents' younger years, giving everyone the chance to reminisce, sing along and perhaps even have a little dance!

Join us from 3pm for an afternoon of music, memories and fun.

👻 Halloween Fun – Thursday 29 & Friday 30 October

We’re ending October with some spooky fun!

On Thursday 29 October, residents can enjoy spooky stories, games and creative activities from 3pm.

Then, on Friday 30 October, the Halloween celebrations continue with cupcakes and games to bring the month to a fun-filled close.

Creating a Kinder, Healthier and Happier Community

At Mary Rose Manor, our activities programme is about so much more than filling the day.

Our Holistic Experiences programme is designed to support different aspects of wellbeing, including mind, body, community, creativity and friendship.

From singing familiar songs and sharing memories to getting creative, enjoying a hand massage, dancing, baking and simply having a cup of tea together, every activity provides an opportunity for residents to connect with the people around them and enjoy meaningful moments.

We also recognise that everyone is different. Some residents may love getting involved in group activities, while others may prefer quieter creative sessions or simply sitting down with a cup of tea and having a chat. Our varied programme means there are opportunities for everyone to participate in a way that feels comfortable and enjoyable for them.

A Care Home Where Every Day Can Bring a New Experience

We believe that moving into a care home should not mean giving up the things that make life enjoyable.

At Mary Rose Manor, we aim to create a warm and welcoming environment where residents can continue to explore their interests, make new memories and enjoy meaningful relationships.

Our September and October programme is packed with opportunities to create, connect, reminisce, relax, laugh and have fun together.

Whether it’s a seaside singalong, a slice of cake and a cup of coffee, an afternoon of country music or some Halloween creativity, we’re looking forward to making plenty of small moments and big memories together.

Keep an eye on the Mary Rose Manor activities programme for more upcoming events and experiences.
