Mother’s Day at Ambleside Bank: A Heartwarming Celebration of Love, Community, and Togetherness

Mother’s Day is always a special occasion, but this year at Ambleside Bank Care Home, we made it truly unforgettable. Our goal was simple—to ensure that every lady in our home felt cherished, celebrated, and included on this meaningful day.

Preparing for a Special Mother’s Day

In the week leading up to Mothering Sunday, our dedicated team began planning a heartfelt celebration. We understand that not all residents are able to spend the day with family, so we reached out to our incredible local community to help make the day extra special for everyone.

The response was overwhelming. We were deeply touched by the kindness, generosity, and support shown by local businesses and individuals who helped us create a magical experience for our residents.

Incredible Community Support

We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who contributed:

• Middle and Wood Funeral Directors for their beautiful flowers and chocolates for all residents

• Orchid Bloom Florist for the stunning daffodils

• Fir Tree College students, who delivered the flowers and spent meaningful time chatting with residents

• Murals by Me, who brightened our home with gorgeous hand-painted floral window designs

• Sweet Treats, for their delightful bouquets and sweet bags

• The Cake Shed, for their luxurious and delicious cakes

We are also incredibly grateful to Paul and Karen Burns, who continue to support our home following the passing of their parents. Their thoughtful donation of hand creams and toiletries meant so much to both residents and staff.

Creating a Warm and Nostalgic Atmosphere

Inside the home, the celebrations were just as special. We decorated throughout and displayed treasured family photographs of residents with their loved ones, creating a warm and nostalgic environment.

Each resident enjoyed a pampering makeover, followed by a glamorous photoshoot. These photos were proudly displayed in reception for families to admire and take home as keepsakes—capturing beautiful memories from a truly special day.

A Joyful Mothering Sunday Celebration

When Mothering Sunday arrived, there was a real buzz of excitement throughout the home. One of our resident’s daughters, Louise, kindly volunteered her time to provide professional makeup for the ladies, helping them feel confident, pampered, and celebrated.

Our staff team worked tirelessly to ensure everything ran smoothly, creating a joyful and welcoming environment for residents, families, and visitors alike.

A highlight of the day was the fantastic live entertainment from The Tenor Ladies, who brought energy, music, and smiles to everyone in the room. They even shared their experience on social media, praising the effort and atmosphere of the day.

A Day to Remember

The home was filled with laughter, music, and a true sense of togetherness. Families, friends, staff, and residents came together to celebrate the incredible women in our care.

This wonderful day is a reminder of the power of community, compassion, and connection. With the continued support of our local community and the dedication of our team, we are proud to create meaningful experiences that enrich the lives of every resident at Ambleside Bank.
