Activities Coordinator

Euxton Park Nursing Home

Permanent | Full-Time | £13.15 per hour

35 hours per week | 5 days per week | 08:30am – 4:00pm


About the Role

We are looking for a caring, creative and enthusiastic Activities Coordinator to join the team at Euxton Park Nursing Home.


As Activities Coordinator, you will play an important role in creating meaningful and enjoyable experiences for our residents, helping them stay socially connected, engaged and involved in activities that reflect their individual interests, abilities and preferences.


You will plan and deliver a varied programme of activities and events, from arts and crafts, music and games to celebrations, community visits, minibus trips and special occasions. You will also help develop relationships with local community groups, churches, schools and voluntary organisations to bring new and exciting opportunities into the Home.


This is a permanent, full-time position working 35 hours per week across 5 days, from 08:30am to 4:00pm.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver a varied programme of meaningful activities for residents.

  • Encourage residents to participate in social activities and maintain their personal interests.

  • Develop innovative and engaging activities based around residents' individual preferences and abilities.

  • Maintain activity boards, posters, photographs and displays throughout the Home.

  • Record participation and relevant information in residents' care plans and activity records.

  • Organise celebrations and special events, including birthdays, seasonal events and national occasions.

  • Maintain a record of significant birthdays, including 100th birthdays.

  • Arrange and support minibus trips and community outings.

  • Develop links with local churches, community groups, schools and voluntary organisations.

  • Help coordinate religious services and ensure residents who wish to receive communion can access this.

  • Encourage care staff to become involved in activities and events.

  • Assist with fundraising events such as summer fairs, Christmas events, Easter activities and garden parties.

  • Attend and contribute to residents' meetings.

  • Identify opportunities to promote the Home and showcase residents' activities and achievements.

  • Manage the activities budget responsibly and maintain accurate records.

  • Support the evaluation and development of the activities programme.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and statistical data as required.

  • Attend training, supervision and appraisal as required.

  • Always maintain confidentiality and safeguard residents from abuse and neglect.

  • Work positively and collaboratively with colleagues across the Home.

  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by your line manager.

  • Willing to learn and develop new skills.

  • Ideally experienced in a caring environment or a similar role.

  • Able to demonstrate good organisational skills and, where appropriate, supervisory or leadership abilities.

  • Passionate about creating meaningful and enjoyable experiences for residents.
