Deputy Nurse Manager

Euxton Park Care Home is seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Nurse Manager to support the Registered Manager in the effective clinical and operational management of the home. This is a key leadership role for an established nurse who leads by example and is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care.


Hours & Contract

  • 36–48 hours per week

  • On-call duties required

  • Flexible working patterns considered


A 36 hour contract would consist of 24 clincial hours and 12 supernumerary hours.A 48 contract would consist of 24 clincial hours and 24 supernumerary hours.


This role will involve, days, evenings, nights and weekend working.


Salary

  • £42,000 – £45,000 per annum

  • Salary dependent on experience and qualifications


The Role

As Deputy Nurse Manager, you will:

  • Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day management of the home

  • Provide strong clinical leadership to nursing and care teams

  • Take full clinical and managerial responsibility in the absence of the Registered Manager

  • Ensure high standards of nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation

  • Maintain a safe, homely, and compliant environment for residents

  • Participate fully in the care process, leading from the front by practice and example

  • Be part of the on-call rota, ensuring appropriate clinical cover at all times


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor nursing care standards and service provision

  • Coordinate clinical services including GP, medical and allied health visits

  • Support residents and families, including communication around care plans and health updates

  • Investigate and manage complaints, incidents and safeguarding concerns as delegated

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, CQC standards, and statutory regulations

  • Supervise, support and motivate care and nursing teams

  • Assist with recruitment, induction, training, appraisals and staff development

  • Promote ongoing professional development and best practice in nursing care


About You

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with 6–8+ years post-registration experience

  • Previous experience in a senior nurse or deputy management role within a care home setting is highly desirable

  • Confident clinical leader with strong organisational and communication skills

  • Committed to safeguarding, quality improvement and resident-focused care

  • Able to manage teams, prioritise workloads and respond effectively to emergencies
