Rate of Pay: £12.21 per hour

Century Healthcare Ltd is seeking a reliable and caring Domestic Assistant to join our team at New Thursby Nursing Home. This is an important role supporting the comfort, safety, and wellbeing of our residents by maintaining a clean, welcoming, and well-organised environment.

The successful candidate may also be required, from time to time, to support the Kitchen and Laundry teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all areas of the home are cleaned and maintained to a high standard in line with Century Healthcare Homes’ cleaning schedules and guidelines

• Meet the individual needs and requirements of residents while respecting their privacy, dignity, and choice

• Maintain strict confidentiality of residents’ and staff information at all times

• Comply with all relevant legislation and policies, including Health & Safety, COSHH, Fire Safety, and the Care Standards Act

• Use cleaning equipment safely and correctly, reporting any faults promptly via the maintenance reporting process

• Ensure housekeeping supplies are adequately stocked and report shortages to the Line Manager

• Respond promptly to spillages and cleanliness issues using initiative and awareness

• Work collaboratively as part of the wider team, attending meetings and training as required

• Maintain all mandatory training and participate in supervision, appraisal, and development activities

• Support safeguarding responsibilities and help protect residents from abuse

• Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Line Manager

  
  

Duties may be prioritised and adjusted in consultation with the post holder to meet the needs of the home.

Person Specification

• Basic literacy and numeracy skills

• Good communication skills

• Friendly, helpful, and courteous manner

• Ability to organise and complete routine tasks to agreed standards

• Ability to use and maintain essential cleaning equipment

• COSHH training (or willingness to undertake training)
