Gillibrand Hall Nursing Home is looking for an organised, reliable and enthusiastic Domestic Supervisor to join our friendly team.


This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in domestic, housekeeping or laundry services who enjoys taking responsibility, supporting a team and maintaining high standards within a care home environment.


As Domestic Supervisor, you will play an important role in ensuring that Gillibrand Hall remains a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our residents, visitors and staff.


About the Role

Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will supervise our Domestic and Laundry Assistants, ensuring that cleaning and laundry services are delivered efficiently and consistently to the high standards expected across Century Healthcare Ltd.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising the daily activities of Domestic and Laundry Assistants.

  • Ensuring all areas of the home are cleaned and maintained to a consistently high standard.

  • Organising and overseeing cleaning schedules and laundry services.

  • Monitoring stock levels and ordering cleaning, laundry and housekeeping supplies.

  • Maintaining the stock room and ensuring supplies are stored appropriately.

  • Acting as the main point of contact for suppliers of cleaning and laundry materials.

  • Ensuring all necessary housekeeping items are available throughout the home.

  • Ensuring cleaning equipment is safe, maintained and in good working order.

  • Reporting maintenance issues and equipment faults promptly.

  • Ensuring COSHH, Health & Safety, Fire Safety and relevant care standards are followed.

  • Supporting a positive, friendly and respectful environment for residents and colleagues.

  • Maintaining confidentiality and respecting residents’ privacy, dignity and choices.

  • Supporting safeguarding responsibilities and ensuring residents are protected from abuse.

  • Participating in training, supervision and appraisal.

  • Taking initiative to identify and address cleaning or housekeeping requirements as they arise.

  • Carrying out any other reasonable duties requested by the Registered Manager.


About You

  • Reliable and able to work as part of a team.

  • Confident communicating with colleagues and suppliers.

  • Able to supervise and support other members of the domestic team.

  • Able to work independently and use their own initiative.

  • Comfortable maintaining high standards and paying attention to detail.

  • Able to complete routine tasks to agreed standards.

  • Literate and numerate to a basic level.

  • Familiar with cleaning equipment and its safe use.

  • Knowledgeable about COSHH or willing to undertake the required training.
