Salary: £12.71 per hour

Hours: 25.5 hours per week (3 days per week)

Shift Pattern: 7:00am – 4:00pm


Are you someone who takes pride in creating a clean, welcoming environment and enjoys supporting others? Gillibrand Hall Care Home is looking for a caring, reliable and hardworking Domestic / Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team.

This varied role combines housekeeping and kitchen duties, helping to ensure our residents enjoy a clean, safe and comfortable home alongside freshly prepared, nutritious meals.


About the Role

As a Domestic / Kitchen Assistant, you'll play an important part in the daily running of our home by:

  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the home.

  • Cleaning resident bedrooms, communal areas and facilities in line with cleaning schedules.

  • Assisting the Chef with preparing and serving nutritious meals.

  • Washing up and ensuring the kitchen is clean, tidy and hygienic at all times.

  • Receiving, storing and rotating food deliveries correctly.

  • Following all Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, COSHH and infection prevention procedures.

  • Monitoring cleaning and catering supplies and reporting shortages.

  • Working closely with colleagues to provide a warm, welcoming environment for residents and visitors.

  • Treating every resident with dignity, respect and compassion.


About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is reliable, punctual and takes pride in their work.

  • Has a positive, friendly and caring attitude.

  • Enjoys working as part of a team.

  • Has good communication and organisational skills.

  • Can work efficiently using their own initiative.

  • Has basic literacy and numeracy skills.

  • Holds a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and/or COSHH training (desirable, but training can be provided).


Previous experience in housekeeping, domestic services, catering, hospitality or within a care setting would be advantageous, although full training will be provided for the right candidate.
