Handyman/woman/Maintenance (Ambleside Bank)

Job Description:

We are recruiting for a handyman/woman to help with the maintenance at Ambleside Bank Care Home.

Salary: £12.94 per hour

Full time: 40 hours per week

Permanent position working at Ambleside Bank but you may be expected to support any of our sites.

You will be required to participate in the on-call rota, which will be 1 week in 2. This covers a period of Friday to Friday and you will be paid an additional £60 whilst on call.

Fuel expenses are compensated at 45p per mile.

Main duties and responsibilities:

To provide a comprehensive maintenance service in all areas, both interior and exterior. Communicating and interacting with all employees and residents ensuring the home is kept in good condition. Weekly maintenance and safety checks. Painting, decorating, carpet fitting. Maintaining highest levels of health and safety at all times.

All applicants must have a car or van and be willing to travel around the area. You must have a clean driving licence and own a basic tool kit. This position is working in care homes so you will need a DBS check.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

· Experience in DIY and gardening

· Basic numeric and good record keeping skills

· Basic Health & Safety knowledge

· Good communication

· Approachable and friendly, able to work in a team

· Ability to work unsupervised, able to plan and prioritise own workload

· Experience in carpentry, plumbing, decorating, Health & Safety

· Full clean driving licence
