At Lytham Court Care Home, we are proud to continue our celebration of diversity with two more wonderful cultural events – Bulgaria Day and India Day.
Following the success of our previous Romanian and Nepalese celebration days, our team once again came together to share their heritage, traditions and stories with residents and colleagues. These special events are an important part of life at Lytham Court, helping us celebrate the rich cultural backgrounds of our staff while creating meaningful, joyful experiences for the people who live here.
Bulgaria Day at Lytham Court
Our Bulgaria Day was a truly heartwarming celebration.
Staff dressed beautifully in traditional Bulgarian clothing and proudly shared stories about their culture, history and customs. We decorated the home with Bulgarian flags, cultural displays and photographs, giving residents a glimpse into the country’s vibrant traditions.
Residents were treated to samples of authentic Bulgarian food, lovingly prepared and shared by our team. The highlight of the day was traditional Bulgarian dancing, performed to lively folk music. The energy, colour and passion of the performance captivated everyone watching.
In fact, one of our residents was moved to tears during the dancing – happy tears, of course! It was a beautiful moment that perfectly captured why these cultural days are so special at Lytham Court.

India Day: Colour, Culture and Celebration
India Day brought a burst of colour, music and flavour into our home.
Staff wore stunning traditional Indian outfits, showcasing the rich textiles and designs that are such an important part of Indian heritage. Residents enjoyed learning about Indian traditions, festivals and family life, with photos and flags displayed around the home to bring the culture to life.
We were also delighted to sample traditional Indian food, giving residents the opportunity to experience new flavours and aromas. The day continued with traditional Indian dancing set to vibrant music, filling Lytham Court with joy and energy.
Residents and staff alike thoroughly enjoyed the celebration, asking questions, sharing stories and fully immersing themselves in the experience.
