At Lytham Court, we’re proud to be home to a wonderfully diverse team — and this year we’re making it a priority to celebrate the different cultures that make our home such a warm, vibrant place to live and work.

Recently, we hosted two special cultural celebration days: Romanian Day and Nepalese Day — and both were filled with colour, joy, and meaningful moments shared between staff and residents.
Romanian Day at Lytham Court
Our Romanian team members brought their culture to life by dressing in traditional Romanian clothing, sharing stories, and performing traditional dances that residents loved watching.

One of the highlights was getting to try a selection of traditional Romanian food, enjoyed together by both staff and residents. It was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to experience something new, while learning more about the people who care for and support our residents every day.

Nepalese Day: Music, Dance and Delicious Food
Following the success of Romanian Day, we celebrated Nepalese Day, where staff proudly wore traditional Nepalese dress and performed dances full of energy and cultural meaning.

Residents were invited to join in the fun, and the day was topped off with a chance to taste authentic Nepalese food, giving everyone the chance to explore new flavours and enjoy a shared experience.

Why Cultural Celebrations Matter in Care Homes
Celebrating culture in a care home is about much more than food and music — it’s about:
Building stronger relationships between residents and staff
Promoting inclusion, respect, and understanding
Creating a lively and engaging environment
Helping residents feel connected to the wider world
Recognising and appreciating the people who make Lytham Court special
These events bring people together, spark conversation, and create memories — and that’s at the heart of what we aim to provide every day.

More Cultural Celebration Days Coming Soon
These events are just the beginning. Throughout the year, we’ll continue hosting more cultural celebration days to reflect and honour the diverse backgrounds within Lytham Court.
We’re excited to keep learning from each other, celebrating together, and creating an environment where everyone feels valued and included.
