At Lytham Court, we’re always looking for new and exciting ways to bring joy, conversation and meaningful experiences to our residents — and this week, we were delighted to welcome Home Safari, who paid us a very special visit with their wonderful selection of animals.
From the moment they arrived, the atmosphere in the home changed. There was curiosity, laughter, and plenty of wide-eyed excitement as residents gathered to see which animals would be coming out next!

Cute, Cuddly… and a Few That Were Not So Cuddly!
Home Safari brought along a variety of animals — some soft and snuggly, and others a little more unusual!
Residents had the opportunity to hold, touch and stroke many of the animals, giving everyone a chance to enjoy the experience up close. For some, it brought back memories of having pets in the past. For others, it was a brand-new experience and a real talking point throughout the day.
Even those who were unsure at first soon found themselves smiling — especially when the cutest visitors made their appearance!

A Brilliant Activity for Wellbeing and Engagement
Animal visits are always a favourite at Lytham Court, and it’s easy to see why.
Experiences like this can support:
Emotional wellbeing and mood
Gentle sensory stimulation
Social interaction and conversation
Confidence and engagement
Positive reminiscence, especially for those who have owned pets
It was lovely to see residents chatting together, encouraging one another, and sharing stories as they met each animal.
