Valentine’s Day at Ambleside Bank: Love, Laughter and a Traditional Afternoon Tea

Valentine’s Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate love in all its forms — romance, friendship, family bonds, and lifelong memories. Last year at Ambleside Bank, our home was filled with warmth and happiness as residents came together for a truly special Valentine’s Day afternoon tea.

With a beautifully decorated dining room, delicious treats, and the chance to share the day with loved ones, it was an afternoon that reminded us all just how meaningful connection and companionship can be.

A Traditional Valentine’s Afternoon Tea

To mark the occasion, residents enjoyed a traditional afternoon tea with all the favourites — freshly baked scones, sandwiches, and cakes, served in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

The dining room was transformed with Valentine’s-themed decorations, including hearts, flowers, and bright touches of colour, creating a lovely setting for residents and their guests to enjoy.

Welcoming Loved Ones into Our Home

Just as we do at Christmas, we were delighted to invite residents’ partners and family members to join the celebrations.

Valentine’s Day can be a time that brings back many emotions, so being able to share the afternoon with loved ones made it even more special. Seeing residents laughing, chatting, and enjoying the occasion together created a real sense of togetherness across the home.

Sharing Wedding Memories and Love Stories

One of the most touching parts of the day was our display of residents’ old wedding photographs, which were lovingly gathered and shared around the home.

These precious images sparked wonderful conversations and happy reminiscing. Residents spoke about their wedding days, their partners, and the love stories that have shaped their lives — with plenty of smiles along the way.
